Fernando Sandoval Jimenez was born and raised in central rural Mexico, and attended the United World College in New Mexico. Before coming to Middlebury he took a year off to volunteer and travel in the Middle East and North Africa. He is an Environmental Studies and Geography joint major and Arabic minor. He received a CSE Grant during the Summer of 2012 to implement “Integrando a Mexico 2012,” a summer camp on youth empowerment and social entrepreneurship, and he is currently an fellow in the first cohort at the CSE.
