Naina Qayyum, Middlebury College
Naina Qayyum, from Pakistan, is a recent graduate (class of 2015) of Middlebury College. She majored in Economics with a minor in Global Health. Apart from her interest in public health, Naina is keen on exploring Design Thinking as a tool for creating an innovation mentality to empower communities to design their own social impact ideas on a microscale. She received a summer grant of $3000 in 2014 from the Middlebury Center for Social Entrepreneurship, which she utilized in a project aiming to introduce Design Thinking to young women in Northern Pakistan. In summer 2015, Naina is going back to Pakistan with a Davis Peace Project grant to involve more Pakistani youth in the Design Thinking process to brainstorm microlevel innovative social impact ideas.
